Rocky, a former member of ASTRO, discussed the strong relationships he maintains with his former teammates. On November 22, Rocky released his 1st mini album ‘ROCKYST’ and signified his new beginning as a solo artist under his self-established company, One Fine Day Entertainment.
The members have all listened to my new music and given me positive feedback,” he started. Nothing except positive comments come from them. They’re just like having reliable, familiar housemates. We rarely offer each other counsel on major life issues. Everyday life is all we discuss.
In retrospect, he said:
“At the time, launching a solo career wasn’t really on my mind.”
He went on to explain why he left Fantagio and ASTRO. Simply put, I was exhausted, disoriented, and at a loss for action. After over 15 years in the profession (including my time as a trainee), the thought crossed my mind, “Maybe I don’t need to continue down this path.”
Then, soon after his choice to leave his team, Rocky lost a close buddy and teammate, the late Moonbin. I feel like I’ve given him a proper send-off. Truthfully, it hurt like hell. I guess the anguish was so profound that I couldn’t even fathom it,” the musician explained.
In a later conversation, Rocky was probed on the possible reactions of Moonbin to his solo effort. I’ve seen him in my nightmares before,” he said. The most he would do is nod, though. We spent so much of our lives together that we may as well have been twins; back then, we had all the arguments we needed to have, and if we didn’t open up, time would sort things out. Hyung would smile and nod rather than make any profound statements. By indicating his chest, Rocky said confidently, “He is always here with me.”

Finally, Rocky said, “I aim to become regarded as an artist who experiments and takes risks. If people listen to this album with that in mind, it would mean a lot to me. The first single, “Lucky Rocky,” from Rocky’s debut EP, ROCKYST, may now be heard online.
